Amanda Hannan, Chairman

Amanda Hannan is Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Advans International. She is also Chief Investment Officer and oversees the Finance Department. Amanda is Chairman of the Board for Advans Ghana and sits on the Boards of Amret, Advans Côte d’Ivoire and Advans Pakistan. As Chief Investment Officer, Amanda oversees the performance of the Advans network and accompanies affiliates in legal, governance and financing matters. She is also responsible for managing all group equity investments and divestments and reporting to the Board of Directors and shareholders of Advans SA. Since she joined Advans International in 2006, she has handled all aspects of creating greenfield microfinance institutions, namely conducting feasibility studies, devising business plans and financial forecasts, negotiating with co-shareholders, and submitting license applications. Prior to joining Advans, Amanda worked in corporate finance advisory services in London and Paris.Amanda was a Board member of Advans Ghana from 2009 - 2011 and became a Board member again in June 2015. She was appointed Chairman of the Board in July 2015. Amanda is British and is bilingual (English, French).

Solène Le Bleis, Director

Solène is currently Investment Officer with Advans International based in France. She is responsible for overseeing financial and operating performance of Advans microfinance institutions in Ghana, Myanmar and Tunisia. Before joining Advans International, she worked as a Project Officer with Oikocredit in the Netherlands where she was responsible for providing financial and technical support to MFIs and SME banks in North and Sub-Saharan African countries.
Solène holds a Master’s degree in Applied Geoeconomics from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques of Bordeaux, France and a Master’s degree, with a specialization in Economics and Finance, from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques of Rennes, France. Her areas of specialization include financial inclusion and economic development and she has thorough knowledge of financial sectors in North and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Veronica Quinzler, Director

Veronika Quinzler works at KfW, Frankfurt am Main (a shareholder of Advans Ghana) and is a Principal Project Manager at KfW Development Bank West Africa since May, 2010. She is responsible for the financial sector/ microfinance projects in Sénégal, Nigeria and all regional projects in West Africa. Prior to joining KfW, she worked at one of the big four international accounting and advisory firms as a Consultant for a advising financial institutions on corporate transactions and before that for the German stock exchange. Veronika became a member of the Board of Directors of Advans Ghana in June 2015.

François Marchal, Director

François Marchal started with the Société Générale Group in New York in 2003, then joined its General Inspection department in Paris in September 2005 and was appointed co-Managing Director of the department from March 2011 on. In July 2014, he was promoted to Head of Sales of Société Générale Ghana (a shareholder of Advans Ghana) and is now the Deputy Managing Director. Prior to joining Société Générale, he worked at Ernst & Young as an Associate Consultant based in Paris. François became a member of the Board of Directors of Advans Ghana in June 2015. François is French and is multi lingual (French, English, German and Arabic).

Ben Berko, Director

Ben Berko has 30 years of experience in Retail, SME and Corporate Banking business covering sales, client relationship, and risk management. This experience spans 10 years as Branch Manager at several outlets, Head of Business Credit Administration & Leasing having responsibility for Credit/Business risk analysis. He retired from the bank as Head of Corporate Banking from the Societe Generale Bank in December 2014, and is now a Banking/Investment Consultant. He holds an MBA[Finance], BA[Political Science/Philosophy] both degrees from the University of Ghana and he is a graduate of The FinAfrica Institute[Milan, Italy] from where he obtained a Diploma in Advance Economics of Banking. Ben joined the Board of Directors of Advans Ghana in June 2015.

Brieuc Cardon, Director

Brieuc joined the Advans Group and Advans Ghana in January, 2010 and March 2013 respectively. He has over 11 years continuous working experience in SME and Finance. Prior to joining Advans Group, he worked at ING, an International Financial Group based in the Netherlands as a Relationship Manager for SME’s and became Head of Account Management for Corporate Clients in 2008. Brieuc, a Belgian, is multi lingual (French, English, Italian, Spanish and Dutch).

Francis Owiredu, Deputy CEO & Acting CEO

Francis Owiredu is a Chartered Accountant and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana). He has over 10 years professional experiences across the Manufacturing Industry and the Shipping Industry. Prior to joining Advans Ghana in 2009, he was the Financial Accountant at MOL Ghana Limited and later Financial Reporting Manager at Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited.

Barbara Odei, Chief Operation Officer

Barbara Odei joined Advans Ghana with vast experience and exposure in Microfinance. She has over ten years microfinance experience in areas of Credit management, Branch management, Human Resources management and Organizational development. She holds a degree from the University of Cape Coast and an MBA in Finance from Methodist University College. She has attended several work shops and seminars organized by Bank of Ghana, Banking College, Gamey & Gamey, among others.

Rexford Otoo, Chief Financial Officer

Rexford is a chartered accountant with over 10 years of experience in financial/management accounting, financial reporting, financial analysis, risk management, internal control, cost control, system implementation and  process improvement. Rexford has diverse experience cutting across the tobacco and hospitality industry as well as in the accounting practice and financial services industries. Rexford began his professional career in 2006 as an Accounts Assistant in British American Tobacco Ghana Ltd. Prior to his appointment as CFO at Advans Ghana, he was the head of the Accounts Department at NDK Financial Services for 4 years

Desmond Kwawu, Human Resource Manager

Desmond has rich experience in Human Resource Management in the micro-finance Industry. His vast industry experience covers Recruitment and Selection, Human Resource Training and Development, Compensation and Rewards Management, Performance Management, Talent Management, Developing and Implementing Human Resource Strategy, among others. Prior to his appointment as the Head of Human Resources at Advans Ghana, he was the Human Resource Manager of Adehyeman Savings and Loans Limited. He has in the past worked as a Human Resource Officer for Training at ProCredit Savings and Loans Limited and also as the Training Coordinator of The Capital Group Ltd. He is an Associate Member of the Institute of Human Resource Management Practitioners (IHRMP) and holds a Masters Degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Ghana Business School. He holds a first degree in Psychology from the same university.
